Name: Bobbie Graham
Graduation Year: 1970
Degree: BS Textile Science
Biography: Bobbie Graham is a 1970 graduate of the UC Davis Textiles and Clothing department and currently lives in Columbia, CA. After graduation she moved to San Jose and worked in retail fabric stores and stitchery shops. Her main career has been in accounting for 30 years and she is currently working in the Columbia City Hotel business office. She has two children, Andrew (22) attening UCSC and a daughter, Elisia (20) who lives in Conneticut.

Name: Fran Grinels
Graduation Year: 1968
Degree: BS General Home Economics
Biography: Fran Grinels is a 1968 graduate in General Home Economics and earned a secondary teaching credential from UCD in 1969. Fran lives with her husband of 30 years, Same, in Cupertino. She has two grown daughters, Jenn and Cara. Fran's love at UCD was Textile Design. She started teaching summer school one week before receiving her credential at UCD. She taught all aspects of Home Economics for 32 years straight at the same high school, Homestead High School in Cupertino. Sewing and textile design were always her favorite courses. In the process, she became an Interior Designer. Retiring from teaching in 2001, Fran started Fran Grinels Design. Fran designs and constructs soft home furnishings, especially pillows, and jewelry. Fran is learning metalsmithing and is amazed at the overlap in skills used in constructing jewelry and clothing. Fran also teaches classes on designing and construction memory quilts made from T-shirts and has just completed an instruction e-book. Fran is currently busy planning for the 3rd annual Virgin Artist show and sale in her home, and art show for new artists. Fran is definitely having fun!

Biography: Debbie is a 2004 graduate of the UC Davis Textiles and Clothing department. She currently lives in Cordelia with her husband who she just married on May 22, 2005. She began the ATP training program with Mervyns in July 2004 and was promoted to a Business Analyst in the in Girls Department in September 2004. She is currently interviewing for an Assistant Buyer position with Mervyns. She enjoys spending time with her husband and two cats and two dogs.

Name: Anne Henry
Graduation Year: 2002
Degree: BS Textiles and Clothing
Biography: Anne Henry received a bachelor's degree in Textiles and Clothing Science from UC Davis in 2002. Not long after graduation, the lure of powder skiing drew her to Tahoe City in Lake Tahoe, California. There, she worked at a ski shop the first winter and at Squaw Valley as a cable car driver the second winter. During her third winter she got very lucky and found a position at a small company designing tool and travel bags. Currently, Anne is still working as a designer at the Brown Bag Company in Incline Village, Nevada where she will become a sales representative as well. This winter she plans to ski 60+ days at Squaw Valley and would like to own her own clothing company in Tahoe someday.

Name: Kelly (Cerruti) Hiatt
Graduation Year: 1992
Degree: BS Textiles and Clothing
Biography: Kelly graduated in 1992 from the UC Davis Textiles and Clothing Department. She currently resides in Davis, California with her husband of 7 years, Craig, and her 2-year-old son, Joseph. After graduating she started her career at Nordstroms in Sacramento as a Sales Associate. She worked herself up to Assistant Manager of one of the women's departments. She ended her retail career in 1995 and started working in hotel sales for the Sheraton in Rancho Cordova and then in 1997 started working for Marriott International in a variety of sales positions. The last position was Director of Sales for two Courtyard properties in Sacramento. After her son Joseph came into the family she became a Stay-At-Home mom and wife. She has been an avid sewer her whole life and is starting her own Custom Decor business called La Stoffa where she is offering custom home and business decor.

Name: Susan Keeny
Graduation Year: 1983
Degree: BS Home Economics
Biography: Susan is a 1983 graduate of UC Davis with a B.S. in Home Economics with an emphasis on Textiles and Clothing and Human Development. After graduation she married her husband Alan (of 22 years) and started a family. Alex (19) and Grant (15). In 1987 she received her 20 teachning credential from CSUS in Home Economics and Health. Her first teaching position was at Empire H.S. in Grass Valley, as a long-term sub in the Home Economics department. At the end of that year. she was offered a position as an Independent Study Teacher of Sierra Mountain High School in Grass Valley. She has continued that position for the past 17 years as a teacher, of all subjects, and Work Experience Education Coordenator. Though she is not working directly in her field, the breadth of education she recieved at UCD was great preparation for her broad teaching job.

Name: Ann Laidlaw
Graduation Year: 1982
Degree: BS Textile Science
Biography: Ann lives in North Calorlina with her chemist husband of 20 years, Ron, two school-age children , and associated pets. Ann is Team Leader of Color and Appearance Applications at GretagMacbeth, with responsibility for supporting users and sales staff, and investigating innovative applications of color management to textiles and related industries. She is an active member of ISCC, CORM, SPE, and DCC and has served on both ISCC and CORM Boards. She is also active in AATCC, and is a former chair of the Color Measure Test Methods committee. She is a frequent participant in industrial short courses at AATCC, Clemson Cotton Inc, and NCSC. She is interested in color communication, color difference metrics, and sample measurement issues.
She received her BS in Textile Science from UCD in 1982, and moved to South Carolina to complete her MS in Color Science from Clemson University in 1985. She worked for Burlington Industries in Greensboro NC in R&D until an LSO in 1987 resulted in closing the R&D lab. She then joined several colleagues in a new company, SheLyn, providing software solutions for color management needs in textiles and related industries. She served as Application Manager at SheLyn until 2003, when SheLyn was purchased by GretagMacbeth in a friendly acquisition. She soldiers on at GregtagMacbeth, bringing the message of color measurement and color management to retailers and industries throughout the Americas.

Name: Carolyn Lowenthal
Graduation Year: 1973
Degree: BS Textiles and Clothing
Biography: Carolyn graduated in 1973 with a degree in Textiles and Clothing. Immediately following graduation she moved to Bostom, MA for a year where she worked for a textile wholesaler. She returned to SF in 1974 and went to work for Macy's for several years. She then went to work for several speciality Women's stores as regional managers. In 1985 she went to work for Follett College Bookstores as a regional manager. In 1990 she decided to get back to design. After a couple classes in kitchen and bath design at Canada college in Redwood City she began designing kitchens and selling kitchen cabinets for Gilman Screens and Kitchens. She currently works in their Foster City store. Carolyn is married to Larry, and they live in Foster City. She has 3 stepchildren who are in high school and college.

Name: Josephine Moreno
Graduation Year: 1995
Degree: Ph.D Textiles and Clothing
Biography: Josephine Moreno received her Ph.D from Iowa State University in 1995 in Textiles and Clothing and a B.S. in Textiles and Clothing in 1983. She worked in retail for Weinstock's following her undergraduate degree and began graduate school in 1989 earning an M.A. from CSU Fresno in 1991. Josephine was an assistant professor at the University of Rhode Island for five years where she taught both undergraduate and graduate courses and conducted research on the cultural analysis of dress and textiles and ethnic dress. Presently, Josephine has been at UC Berkeley since 2001 as the graduate diversity coordinator in the arts and humanities, a position that seeks to recruit and retain diversity students in the same division. Josephine presently lives in Davis, California.
