Graduation Checklist

Three - Four (approx.) Quarters Before Graduation:

q     If you plan to change your major, do it now!

q     Except under unusual circumstances, no change of major will be permitted after 135 units. In order to be considered for a change of major after 135 units you must submit an approved graduation plan signed by your major adviser to the Dean’s Office

q     Students should not change/declare their major in the same quarter they plan to complete finalrequirements (see p. 60 of General Catalog) – this could delay your degree

Two Quarters Before Graduation:

q     Request a preliminary degree check from the Dean’s office. You can access this form on the college website at http://caes.ucdavis.edu/StudInfo/Advising/Forms.htm or request the form in person in 150 Mrak Hall

This preliminary degree check will not be done in the same quarter you graduate because you will be receiving an official complete evaluation at that time, it is best to complete this early to assure you will meet all College and University graduation requirements.

q     Check with your major department to make sure you will be ready to graduate at the time you are planning to be done

q     Make sure you have submitted all of your official transcripts for transfer coursework to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions

One Quarter Before Graduation:

q     Make final plans for any minors

q     Check dates to file for candidacy/graduation

q     Investigate cap & gown rentals

q     Make final plans to finalize “Incomplete” grades

Quarter of Graduation:

q     Confirm your mailing address with SISWEB or Registrar’s Office for where your Diploma should be mailed, otherwise you will have to pick it up on campus
